we are bud
A Singapore-based design practice specialising in interior design consulting and build.
At bud, our practice is grounded in human-centric design thinking.
We design spaces informed by their utility, context and opportunity; with a sensitivity to the paradigms of the day and the nuances of the human experience.
The outcomes are spaces that are visceral, behavioural, and reflective; manifest in their timelessness and tenacity, while echoing the spirit of modern design.
culture in the bud
Working through interiors and spatial objects, we design for functionalism beyond aestheticism—spaces that embody both form and function. | Contemporary living is characterised by an ethos on creating spaces that respond to specific needs and structures to first and foremost serve the user and the context. We see a movement towards functionalism as a fundamental standard, and a desire to connect the inhabitant with the native habitat. At bud, we believe that introducing quality design into our built environment enhances our quality of life. |
connecting cultures | We approach projects with a commitment to empathy. Through an iterative design process with mutual dialogue, we seek to understand your lifestyle, living habits and routines to ensure that our intentions are in alignment with your needs. We look beyond archetypes to articulate a narrative that is synonymous with you. |
nurturing nature | We think of haptic environments that elevate the embodied experience of their native setting. Through an inquiry into the nuances of ergonomics, acoustics, lighting, and materials, we explore the interplay of natural and built elements to create a lived-in, sensorial space that would stand the test of time. We delve deep into the details to design a space that profoundly resonates with you. |

from bud to bloom
the design process
bringing fluidity to form
01
the icebreaker
The first in-person touchpoint to understand design in your shoes and your budding vision. We get to know you better here so that we can dive deeper into what you have in mind for your space.
02
the warm-up
An objective-driven meeting to help you cut through the visual and sensory overload and lay out some ideas in the bud. Here, you receive your first Digital Proposal that includes two layout propositions accompanied with mood boards to align the vision with you.
03
filling the glass
The design development phase to reaffirm your needs and refine the budding concepts. The initial design concept is developed materially with further study. Here, we prepare a finalised layout plan with a material visualisation of your space and provide a quotation for your consideration.
04
the half-full
The design documentation phase to communicate the design intent and specifications for the construction process. Here, we get into the technical nitty-gritties to provide a clear and detailed plan for the realisation of your space.
05
water becomes the cup
The project management phase to oversee the work being done on the ground. The bud comes into bloom here where the construction work begins. We coordinate with contractors and consultants, and supervise on-site work to ensure that the project is executed to the highest standards.
06
the serve
The final handover once the project is in full bloom.
