A statement for personal expression, this eclectic and transitional interior design showcases a harmonious fusion of diverse styles that reflects the unique personality and evolving tastes of its inhabitants.
In this rectilinear layout, the space was split down the middle, and on each side a private or communal space.
Different communal functions coexist and intertwine along a unified pathway, distinguished by considered spatial segregation and a thoughtful composition that piques the design interest of this home.

On the left side of the door, you would see the dining area. A large-format sliding door was put in place to allow for a bit of modularity.
Floor-to-ceiling, large, oversized sliding door units make a design statement and provide visual clarity in a room.

On the right side of the door is a compact space that doubles as the living and guest room.

When the door is shut, the living space is closed off from the dining space to allow for some privacy in the guest room.
While this action closes one space from the other, it also opens up to a recessed shelf that services a communal activity.
This hidden storage area exclusively houses the occupant's collection of board games.

The space that now opens up services the communal activity of playing board games with one’s guests.

The kitchen is situated along this length as well to form the communal zone.
As the kitchen forms the path to the yard, the barrel vault acts as a tunnel between the two spaces. This vaulted ceiling facilitates the placement of overhead lights for indirect illumination that accentuates the striking symmetry and ambience of the space.
Fabricated from a single continuous archway, the decorative ceiling keeps the eye moving from one side of the room to the other while creating an illusion of enlargement in an otherwise compact space.

An eclectic maximalist approach is seamlessly fused with nuanced and understated colour palettes.
Combining elements from various styles, eras, and influences, this home embraces a diverse range of textures, patterns, colours and furnishings to create a unique and harmonious blend while maintaining a sense of balance and cohesion.
While the dominant dark wood and whites set the foundation for an elegant and cohesive atmosphere, the contrasting flooring, backsplash and shelving panels in the kitchen and tiled walls in the bathroom add a dynamic touch with their striking colour accents. This design approach allows for flexibility and personal expression, incorporating both traditional and contemporary elements to create a visually dynamic and inviting space.

The private spaces are situated on the other side of this rectilinear space. Through a smaller sliding door, you are led into the master bedroom where the study, bedroom and shower are located.
Within this room, an innovative arrangement replaces traditional doors with a series of carefully positioned blocks, effectively segregating each distinct space from one another while creating the perception of a larger space.
The wardrobe and bookshelves form a distinctive block that separates the rest area from the study. The bedhead and low console delineate the vanity area from the bed, creating a functional partition. This intentional design choice maintains an open concept while minimising barriers to accentuate spaciousness in an intrinsically small space.
